I was bored in the evening, and perhaps a bit depressed.




How difficult is it to find a person with similar interests, similar beliefs, and similar problems like your own? Would it be so naïve to imagine an ideal where everyone seems to play into stupid acts and fall into blind stupor and bliss? If there’s a balance in life, then it doesn’t tip for me, and those who lose themselves into happy ignorance have all the leisure in the world.
I can think to the end of my days, perhaps old and frail, reminiscing and looking back through life. Laying on the deathbed, think back to childhood, when mother and father helped in those first steps. Then years afterward, the first few days of school and the anxiety of starting a social life. More years flash by in an instant, the dull times through highs school and a prom that never existed. Another step ahead into an early career, as the skills grew stronger and decades may pass when work might have paid off. A comfortable home for yourself and no others. The memories of adventurous trips and exciting events appear like a film before your eyes. Slowly, you see the world as it is. It only takes a lifetime to understand your role in existence. Can you tell if it was worth it?
Your sight begins to fade, and the final phase of life, death, takes place. Your final breath, will your family or lover hold your hand as you cease to be? Or will you feel like me, and be alone until the end? No tears. No emotion. No regret.
